Resolved Question: Popular trends at your school?
In 6th grade kids always wore these little hair ribbons, and in 7th it was aeropostle, abercrombie, and hollister, oh and kids ALWAYS wore makeup!
And zebra print and track and field or cross country wacky outfits like dying hair for a meet or wearing blue socks were popular among some of the popular kids. It was like they tried to put themselves trying to make others think they didn’t care how they looked, but they probably did. ![]()
Skinny jeans were popular too.
And I am from Virginia.
Those are the trends here.
I got this off of another question, this question.
Resolved Question: You Live Where??? Silly City Names. Anyone live in one of these?
I bought this book last Halloween called, “Weird, Scary and Unusual Stories and Facts.” One of those armchair reader books. I like to pick it up from time to time; it is jam packed with weird stuff…
Anyways, I came across this one page that lists some really strange U.S city names. I’m not going to type all of them because that would take too long. Here’s a select few of the ones I found most odd:
Benevolence, Georgia
Blue Earth, Minnesota
Boring, Maryland
Bread Loaf, Vermont
Bumble Bee, Arizona
Buttermilk, Kansas
Buttzville, New Jersey
Cheddar, South Carolina
Chipmunk, New York
Church, Iowa
Climax, Georgia
Conception, Missouri
Convent, Louisiana
Deadman Crossing, Ohio
Devil Town, Ohio
Devils Den, California
Devil’s Slide, Utah
Ding Dong, Texas (What? Seriously?)
Energy, Illinois
Frogtown, Virginia
Half Hell, North Carolina
Hell, Michigan (Oh, so that’s where it is?)
Hooker, Oklahoma
Horneytown, North Carolina
Hot Coffee, Mississippi
Hygiene, Colorado
Intercourse, Penn.
Jackass Flats, Nevada
Lizard Lick, Nevada
Monkeys Eyebrown, Kentucky
Mosquitoville, Vermont
Nirvana, Michigan
Oatmeal, Texas
Ordinary, Virginia
Pie, West Virginia
Pray, Montana
Rainbow City, Alabama
Red Devil, Alaska (what’s the deal with all these Devil names?)
Sandwich, Mass.
Santa Claus, Indiana (Santa’s vacation spot, perhaps?)
Spider, Kentucky
Suck-Egg Hollow, Tenn.
Tea, South Dakota
Ticktown, Virginia
Tightwad, Missouri
Toad Suck, Arkansas
Toast, NC
Turkey Foot, FL
Waterproof, Louisiana
Why, Arizona
and last on my select list: Yum Yum, Tennessee
I know I said I was going to only type a select few…sorry, I got carried away.
Where do you live?
I live in Hell.
No really…?
Really…Hell, Michigan
LOL that would be so much fun to say!
So, do you live or know anyone who lives in these cities or other stange named cities? If so, I think an explaination is in order.
Have a nice day.
