Open Question: If I am disabled can I continue as a part-time student and still get my parents health insurance?
My mom’s health insurance policy will cover me until I’m 26. My problem is that with the severity of pain in my lower back it’s difficult for me to take more than 2 or 3 classes a semester at college. The pain is so distracting that it’s very difficult for me to concentrate on more than 3 classes. Is there any way I can stay on my parents health insurance, but only be a part-time student? My surgeons office said that I could get a handicap placard for school, so wouldn’t that be considered disabled? There’s got to be some kind of rule about this type of problem. Also, as a part-time student I’ll still finish school in a year or less. If anyone has had this same problem or knows what I can do I’d very much appreciate it!
Open Question: Sudden numbness, muscle cramping and paralysis… Felt like she was having a stroke during sex?
This is not a joke, so please only serious answers. My roommate over the weekend was having sex with her boyfriend when all of a sudden her hands and face became numb. Then her hands and muscles cramped, her fists clenched, and her face became contorted. Her boyfriend took her to the bathroom and tried to help her sit down, but she was stiff everywhere and could not unclench her hands. She couldn’t talk or control her body, and then she started pouring sweat. She said it lasted for about 20 minutes and then she could finally unclench her fists and walk.
Please, if anyone knows what this could be, it would be helpful. She was terrified that she was having a stroke or something and would be paralyzed. This isn’t a joke, I know that a lot of people could make a dirty joke out of this but it’s not. Both of us are graduate students and we don’t have health insurance so she can’t afford to go to the hospital
Open Question: Losing Health Care While Pregnant… Need Advice?
I’m 3 months pregnant and I will be reaching my 19th birthday in less than a month. Since I’m not in school, I will be dropped from my parent’s insurance (cdphp). I am attempting to get into classes for the summer and gain full-time student status, allowing me to keep my insurance until I’m 23.
However, If I can’t get accepted and registered in time, I’m outta luck
Does anyone have advice on how to keep insurance or gain insurance through CDPHP through other means so I can continue using my own doctors? (My employer will be getting health coverage for his small business. He wants CDPHP. Can this help?…)

The only difference between the government and a private organization is that we let the government use force to accomplish its goals.
What’s the difference between the government providing health insurance to children and a private charity doing so? The government can use force to fund its program. Without the force, the government would be nothing more than an extremely inefficient form of charity in this instance. Voting for a bill to provide health insurance to children (as an example) does not provide health insurance to children. It gives the government the power to use force to take money from the taxpayers with orders to provide health insurance to children. This is an extremely important distinction.
