Voting Question: Why is Planned Parenthood charging me for birth control pills?
Last year, I got a year’s worth of free BC pills because I told them that I only made $500/mo and was a full-time college student with no health insurance. My pills expired, so I went in again and told them the same thing: except I told them that I had PacifiCare insurance (under my parents.) They said that they didn’t accept PacifiCare, so I would have to pay $85 for the exam and $20 per pill packet!!!!
I can’t afford that!! I don’t understand why they suddenly want to charge me for pills that I had previously gotten for free. Should I have told them that I had no health insurance?? I want to go to a different PP and tell them that I have no health insurance so I can get the pills for free, but would my name and insurance information already be in their database? I’m afraid they’ll try to make me pay again if I try to go to another PP.
Thanks for the fast replies… but I still don’t understand exactly why they are charging me, since they didn’t charge me before! My income has stayed the same. I think I should have lied about the health insurance because they seemed to think that meant I had lots of money.

Resolved Question: Health insurance problem: not a full-time college student. Help me?
I am currently a part-time college student (only 9 credit unit) and happily taking my courses. In the middle of my semester, my dad suddenly called me that he needed a transcript to show proof that I’m a full-time student in order to stay in his health insurance. I’m currently freaking out here because generally, I’m not a full-time student and my college doesn’t have a late enrollment class. Overall, my questions are:
Since I’m not a full-time student, will I be kicked out of the insurance under my dad’s name forever? If not, can I ever get back in the insurance by being a full-time student next semester? Is there any other way out of this? What transcript do I need to send: Official or Unofficial?
Sadly, I don’t know the name of the health insurance. I think it’s Pacificare. Something like that.
My health insurance card finally came… with the wrong doctor and medical group selected. Ugh! Damn you Pacificare!
