Open Question: Question about health insurance…?
I am planning to get married about a year and a half from now, shortly after my 21st birthday. I know that our government kind of punishes people for marrying young, and I would no longer be able to stay on my parents’ life insurance program (single, I believe I could stay on their plan until 25). I will be entering medical school about a year after we get married, and we won’t have much in the way of income for the first two years or so. We do, fortunately, have a decent amount put back…but I was just wondering:
A – How expensive would it be for a minimal, high-deductible life insurance plan for a young married couple?
B – Would we qualify for Medicare or any other form of government aid?
C – Any other recommendations?
Thanks.
Resolved Question: Should smokers be elligible for medicare and medicaid (tax payer funded health care)?
for the price of a pack of smokes/ day, these people could afford their own health insurance!
Open Question: calif-both parents agree on child supp. payments (stipulation), what would hppn if parnts got chld gov. insur?
Note: Im A NON-custodial parent and i live in california.
if both parents agree on monthly child support payments (stipulation), what would happen if the parents got their child govrnment (public) health insurance (e.g. medicare for the child, healthy family for the child)? does this effect the child support payments both parents agreed on?
EXAMPLE (of above questions)– lets say the nocustodial parent agreed with the custodial parent to set child suppport payments at 400 dollars a month(stipulation). each month the noncustodial parent would pay directy to the custodial (primary) parent $400 (the non custodial parent would not pay child support sevices the 400 dollars).
lets say both parents later on decide to get their child some type of government health insurance (like healthy families, medical, ect.). what would happend if both parents did this? Would the noncustodial parent still make $400 a month payments to the custodial parent? or would the noncustidal parent NOW make payments to child support services? if yes, would the noncustidal parent make $400 a month paymets to child suport. services? OR would child support services make the noncustudial parent pay more a month? explain.
If the noncustodial parent is required to make payments NOW to child support services, would money be tooken out of the child support payments each month to pay for the (child’s) government health insurance?? EXAMPLE–the noncustidal parent is paying $450 a month to child support services. when child support services recieves the $450 each month, $60 is taken out of the $450 to pay for the child’s government health insurance. the custodial parent would recieve only $390 dollars a month from child support services. is this correct? would this happen? explain
This represents a huge tax on working people that will damage their ability to make ends meet. Obama is doing this because smokers have been demonized and he thinks it won’t cost him politically. I believe it’s cowardly and unfair.
