A number of suggestions for cutting down your rates do reduce the level of coverage you enjoy and so are NOT advisable. But there’s a better suggestion: Implement the right tips and do certain things right and you’ll get huge discounts I’ll explain how…

1. You can lower your rates by avoiding alcoholic beverages. Taking alcoholic beverages makes you a bad risk and therefore increases your rates.

Many health conditions are made more likely by taking alcohol.

How much drinking is safe for you? Sincerely, I do not know.

What I’m sure of is the fact that quitting alcohol abuse is good for you. If you can’t quit completely, drink in moderation if you want to bring down your risk factor.

The only problem is that people who say they cannot help drinking most often can’t drink in moderation. You can get help if you really want to stop drinking.

2. There are things that you’d do well not to see a doctor about as it only adds to your health care spend without any real benefit. Good example are viral infections like flu about which your doctor can’t help. It’s generally known that doctors cannot do you much good if you have a viral infection.

If your doctor can’t do anything about a health condition then I think it’s unwise to spend about $100 on a visit to him or her. I also believe there are little home incidents that your first aid box will take good care of. It pays to know how to take care of simple home incidents especially if you have kids. Most of those incidents would be well taken care of if you take some time out to learn a little about first aid and also have a good first aid kit.

But even in those cases if you’re not certain of what to do go and see a doctor because it is better to lose money than to endanger your life. But, please, know your bounds and know that there are things you must take to a doctor even if you know what to do. There are things you’re not meant to even attempt if you’re not a medical professional. Handle what you should and allow your doctor do those he/she should. You will spend less on health insurance without endangering yourself or yours if you do this.

3. You will pay less in health insurance if you if you get the right tips. Knowing what’s best for you helps you make better decisions. You need a certain level of knowledge for you to spot opportunities and also know how to exploit them.

There are toll-free numbers you can call if you need help on health matters. Call the National Health Information Center at 1-800-336-4797 to if you want to make inquiries.

4. Check if your preferred company has unreasonable limits. Insurance companies might place a limit on the amount they will pay out if a policy holder develops cancer or other catastrophic health conditions. Shop for a better health plan and don’t just settle for it if you consider what they have as their limits are unreasonable.

Also ensure that you check that the maximum you will be required to spend for treatments within a year is fine with you. Like in the other case, start shopping for another health insurance carrier if you are not okay.
