Resolved Question: Can a father’s health insurance cover the prenatal care of the mother who is carrying the child & the delivery?
We are covered under separate health insurance plans by our respective employers (she has an HMO, I have a PPO-HSA). There is a local hospital and OB-GYN medical group that is considered to be amongst the best in our area; although insurance does not include the hospital and medical group in their network, mine does. Can the medical bills for the pre-natal care and delivery be covered under my insurance (considering that it as much my child as it is hers) even though has own health insurance that would cover the expenses from a different provider?

Resolved Question: Is socialized healthcare the way to go?
I assume most of everyone here has seen Michael Moore’s movie *Sicko*. Notice how the media has everyone fighting with everyone else?
All this talk of racism, violence, and poverty/unemployment. What else could that be for except to make people hate/fear other races or *classes* of people, so that you’ll think they dont DESERVE socialized healthcare through your tax dollars.
People lose thier homes left and right from medical bills. Its insane how much some things cost. Some medication actually costs 800x its ingredient value???
Does this make any sense?? Its just a way for the CEO’s of hospitals to make money. Just keep in mind at any time… you could get sick/develop cancer. Even if you are insured, chances are you will be cheated out of getting the insured treatment if its expensive.
Do Americans really have to hate each other like this? People say.. Well i dont think MY TAXDOLLARS should have to pay for someone elses healthcare..
And maybe their right, if they dont want too pay for someone elses healthcare, they dont have too.
But its not working anymore…. the person who says that can be CHEATED out of insured healthcare just as easy as an unemployed person who wants healthcare.
So its obvious we have 2 choices.
Continue to be greedy/mean hearted people who would rather see homeless/unemployed not get Medical Treatment then have to not suffer themselves.
Or we can just socialize it… End the corrupt insurance companies, HMO’s, and let people LIVE without having to worry about getting wiped out by a medical bills.
Reading this information what do you think is the best idea?

Practice Question
A pediatrician speculates that the frequency of visits to his office may be influenced by type of medical insurance coverage. As an explanatory study, she randomly chooses 15 patients: 5 whose parents belong to a health maintenance organization (HMO), 5 whose parents had traditional medical insurance, and 5 whose parents were uninsured. Using the frequency of visits per year from the following table, test the null hypothesis that the type of insurance coverage has no effect on frequency of visits.

Can someone link me to or quickly explain here the major bullet point details about the so-called “socialized health care plan” people are getting up in arms about? I ran into a couple discussions about it the last couple days, but wasn’t sure about what the plan actually entails, so I couldn’t properly address what was being said.
